Outpatient Clinics

Telemedicine:

As part of the Ontario Telehealth Network (OTN), we serve as a site facilitating specialists consults for patients, this advanced service benefits patients as they are not required to travel long distances for consultations with specialists.

OTN serves as a valuable tool for continuing education for professionals and also for videoconferences and meetings.

Chemotherapy:

Our Hospital operates as a satellite chemotherapy clinic to the Northwestern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center. Our nurses who deliver chemotherapy are specially trained. Patients typically receive their first treatment in the larger hospital and then return to the community for subsequent treatments. The Regional Cancer Care Program's health care team continues to provide the medications required, monitor the patient's progress and work closely with our chemotherapy nurses.

Endoscopy:

We have a visiting General Practice Surgeon, who comes once a month for two days to perform gastroscopies and colonoscopies. The Clinic Coordinator sets up the appointments for pre-screening patients after receiving a referral from a physician. The GP Surgeon holds a pre-scope clinic via telemedicine.

For an appointment to any of the clinics please call (807) 727-3811; from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
