UPDATE: Asymptomatic Testing for COVID-19

25-9-2020

COVID-19 Assessment Centre Update:

At this time, the Ministry of Health has reduced the availability of asymptomatic testing for COVID-19. Effective today, only those in priority groups such as health care workers, visitors and staff of LTC, residents and staff of congregate living settings such as shelters, PHU identified close contacts of a confirmed case and for those identified as contacts of an outbreak site will be accepted for asymptomatic testing. This also includes those identified as a close contact by the Health Canada COVID alert app.

Testing is still available for those experiencing symptoms of COVID-19  and those individuals are still encouraged to be tested.

If you have been referred for a test by the NWHU or a healthcare provider, please communicate this to the Assessment Centre staff and you will be scheduled for a testing appointment.

These changes are according to new guidelines put forth by the Ministry of Health.
